Diagnose and troubleshoot Epic end-user problems via telephone, voicemail or email. Advanced knowledge of the EHR configuration and workflow and working skill in keyboarding. Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing with non-technical end-users. Ability to enter and resolve trouble tickets in our automated tracking system. Ability to use the organizational learning software to verify end-user training completion as a required for access request approval. Advanced ability to troubleshoot a variety of computing, software, printer problems and workflow issues surrounding the use and function of the EHR.
Responsible for maintaining the integrity of data security by analyzing, validating and granting/approving access to Legacy and Epic EMR. Maintain independent judgement and decision making within set parameters and demonstrate the ability to determine when higher authorization is required. Ability to troubleshoot Security and Access issues to determine resolution or proper escalation.

  • Determines and assigns data security levels for users who require access to the legacy and EMR templates owned by Revenue Cycle through specific parameters defined by management and documents all accesses approved.
  • Serves as subject matter expert of institutional, clinical and non-clinical systems relating to Revenue Cycle on the help desk and for the Revenue Cycle Training Department.
  • Manages/answers and documents daily help desk calls totaling on average 35/day utilizing in-depth/probing questioning techniques and understanding of the technical level of the user.
  • Assists with Quality Assessment and Root Cause Analysis.
  • May assist with coordinating and maintaining Revenue Cycle Department class enrollment data, as requested by training leadership.
  • Provides support to the Revenue Cycle Training Department and HSTS Security.
  • In addition to the above job responsibilities, other duties may be assigned.

Position Compensation Range: $21.95 – $34.02 Hourly

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education: High School or Post High School Technical Training (CE, HSTS, etc.) Associates Degree preferred.
Experience: 1-2 years relevant experience or UVA specific experience in Revenue Cycle or IT. Preferred Familiarity or experience with EMR applications. Proficient in Epic Revenue Cycle workflow as evidenced by passing assigned Epic application proficiency test within 6 months of hire.
Licensure: Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) by the NAHAM within 18 months of initial hire date.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
This is primarily a sedentary job involving extensive use of desktop computers. The job does occasionally require traveling some distance to attend meetings, and programs.
