Student Welfare at the University is undergoing an exciting period of transformation, including substantial growth across key teams within the directorate, with bold and innovative thinking to enhance the student experience as well as a data-informed approach at the heart of all that we do. Our vision is to enhance our inclusive, caring and supportive community to help our students to manage that affect their ability to study and develop a better student experience.

The Deputy Director of Student Welfare (& Head of Student Support) post is a key position within the directorate’s senior leadership team, for an experienced practitioner and leader – working closely with key internal stakeholders, including fellow heads of service within Student Welfare, as well as external partners, to oversee a coordinated and holistic provision of support for our students. You will have management experience of a front-line mental health service as well as experience of providing support to victims of domestic and/or sexual violence as well as young adults/students with disabilities, mental health conditions and additional needs.
