JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for 3 dynamic, strategic and results-driven professionals to join our team in the role of QualityEngineer/Officer .
This is an exciting opportunity to work in an environment where you will contribute to OPG’s public outreach, engagement and education efforts as part of the company’s commitment to growing its social license.
*KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES *

Act as a Quality leader and perform initial evaluations, investigations, and oversight on EPC Vendor QA programs, for projects under Construction Center of Excellence (CCoE). Research and develop an oversight plan based upon execution scope and complexity of work.

Plan, organize and conduct oversight on EPC Vendor work execution to ensure they meet the requirements of CSA N286, CSA N299, and CSA N285 programs and standards. Ensure that such data and the observations from the field is sufficient to substantiate and support oversight activities and communicated to the Vendor. Ensure that the Vendor is taking appropriate corrective actions commensurate with observations to address any adverse conditions. Conduct effective meetings to discuss root causes, and discuss recommendations and long-term effectiveness. Prepare oversight reports and present same to project management.

Monitor/track the status of outstanding corrective actions and ascertain the effectiveness of completed corrective actions. Update the Datacube Database with the oversight observations and bring them to closure after effective corrective actions have been initiated and implemented

Keep abreast of current developments and trends, and promote quality awareness and improvement. Initiate and develop new programs to satisfy emerging requirements, (e.g., Retubing and Rehabilitation, Corrective Action Assessment, Line Monitoring). Prepare and/or verify procedures/instructions to govern such programs.

Provide assistance to supervisor regarding the administration of the QM department with the preparation of the annual work program, annual plan and schedule, annual manpower estimates and budget, etc.

EDUCATION

The successful completion of a four-year university education in an appropriate engineering field, or by having the equivalent level of education.
QUALIFICATIONS

Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a flexible hybrid office environment.
