The Health Science Center (HSC) is looking for an Quality Control Project Specialist I to serve as a member in the Center for Innovation in Advanced Development and Manufacturing (CIADM) team. The Texas A&M University Health CIADM program operates the Transboundary Emerging Disease facility for Zoetis Inc. While officially working at the TED facility, you will also be a subcontractor to Zoetis (an American drug company and the world’s largest producer of medicine and vaccination products advancing the care for pets and livestock) and have the opportunity to work on vaccine programs that may ultimately be produced at one of their many facilities.
Quality Control
Perform analytical techniques used in the QC department.
Conduct QC activities, including receiving raw materials, documentation, monitoring, analytical experiments, data analysis, maintaining test materials, and operation/ maintenance of analytical equipment.
Assist in designing, planning, and coordinating QC functions to support various projects.
Assist in analytical equipment calibration, maintenance and cleaning.
Assist in executing analytical equipment qualifications.
Use computers and laboratory or technical equipment to perform data analysis, statistical analysis, and technical evaluation of experiments and results.
Assist in determining approaches to solve analytical issues.
Effectively communicate complex technical concepts and provide finished oral and written communication reports to supervisor and management.
Documentation
Develop and disseminate work plans and project documents to include procedures, proposals, progress reports, and presentations.
Prepare and review proposals, SOPs, TMs, reports, QC/QA-related documents.
Carry out maintenance of appropriate documentation for tests, research, and development as specified by our department and required laws and regulations.

Required Education: Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience: None
Preferred Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Biology-related major (Biochemistry, Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology, etc.)
Preferred Experience:
1 – 2 years of relevant professional experience in a Quality Control laboratory environment.
Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.
Preferred Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Experience working in a BSL-2 laboratory and/ or cleanroom environments.
Proficient in aseptic technique, cell culture, and handling potentially infectious agents.
Knowledge of QC analytical methods and analysis of test results.
Ability to perform detailed tasks and use good documentation practices for laboratory notebooks, SOPs, Forms, TMs, etc.
Ability to use basic computer programs (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) with an ability to learn other computer-based systems.
Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to multi-task & prioritize in a dynamic environment.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to be flexible, responsible, self-motivated, and comfortable interacting with coworkers.
Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
Experience in conducting lab experiments, such as protein gel, western blot, ELISA, and environmental monitoring and/ or related molecular biology techniques.
Experience operating analytical equipment, including microplate reader, microplate washer, TOC analyzer, Endosafe, HPLC, cell counter, filter integrity tester, etc.
Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment.
Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy with meticulous attention to detail.
Other Requirements or Other Factors:
Requires mandatory in-lab training to meet our facility level qualification to conduct lab activities and operations.
