QA Test Engineer- 2 year fixed term (backfill)

  • The QA Test Engineer role is critical in testing and inspection process to ensure ICT and partnering vendors release high-quality products that meet customers’ expectations and requirements
  • Base Salary $111,966 + 17% superannuation

About the opportunity

The QA Test Engineer is responsible for designing and implementing tests, analyses requirements for early defect detection and track quality metrics for a range of systems or applications that make up business services. The role focuses on quality assurance on the whole product life cycle (SDLC), automating tests for software maintenance to work out ways to prevent bugs and defects efficiently.

Your key responsibilities will be to:

  • develop professional working relationships with University stakeholders, program leaders, and ICT team members, contributing positively to the program team environment and University perceptions of the Enterprise Test team through credibility, professionalism, and integrity
  • prepare and present information to stakeholders, end users and project teams; facilitate workshops and meetings
  • take responsibility for the provision and operation of test automation solutions and ensure conformity to standards that will meet key priorities and maximize the benefits whilst minimising the costs of those services
  • develop and implement standard operating procedures for test automation solutions
  • develop test plans, test cases, test scripts and automation framework
  • build and maintain Automated Regression Test Suite for various applications and integrations.

About you

  • 8+ years of working experience in testing and strong technical competence in automation testing
  • previous experience in developing fairly complex automation testing frameworks for pipelines and regression testing
  • proven experience with automation languages, API integration tests and scripting toolsets, such as Selenium WebDriver, SoapUI, JMeter, REST, PowerShell, Cucumber, Jenkins, Git, BitBucket, Java and RobotFramework
  • proven experience with CI / CD Pipelines and working in an AGILE Environment
  • excellent Software Testing Lifecycle (STLC), Agile methodology and IT Quality Assurance knowledge X
  • ability to learn new applications, business processes and procedures
