QA Analyst II

GENERAL SUMMARY OF POSITION: 

Under the direction of the director or designee, the Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst II, will ensure the software quality is compliant with technical specifications. The Q A Analyst will perform manual and automated testing and works with project teams to define, develop, and execute test plans and test cases. Effectively communicate and collaborate with project teams to ensure timely delivery of releases. The QA Analyst will implement continuous quality improvement processes working with Business Analysts, Application development teams and various Infrastructure teams.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for all aspects of functional and performance testing for a variety of software development projects
  • Ensure product development life cycle adheres to the quality process
  • Document all test activities and track all anomalies through to resolution
  • Analyze requirements and specifications for development and execution of test cases
  • Execute Test cases to customer requirements and document test results
  • Develop and run test automation scripts in a web services development environment.
  • Test the application using sound engineering practices and employing solid source code management practices
  • Identify, log, and track defects. Assist in associating defects with application behavior
  • Analyze defects reported from the business users and assist in replication
  • Document tests plan results and analyze results
  • Ensure that system, regression, integrated, load, and software black box and white box system testing is completed successfully prior to user acceptance testing
  • Promote Quality Toolset, including source code repository, ClearQuest bug/enhancement reporting system, Rational Robot automation testing tools, and Continued Rational and other quality toolset implementations
  • Protect software assets
  • Perform other duties as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, or equivalent work experience
  • Thorough understanding of QA process and its relationship to a quality product
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills, and works well with people of all levels
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Proven success in performing effective QA testing within project timeline and/or resource constraints
  • Adaptable, committed to deadlines and willingness to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to travel to off-site locations

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience in utilizing one or more of the following technologies/frameworks like Selenium, CodedUI, JMeter STAF etc., automated testing tools and processes, Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL databases, and application product support preferred
  • 1 or more years of Quality Assurance experience
