Public Health Researcher (Fixed Term to 31 July 2023)

Salary Range

£28,762 – £34,308 per annum

The Public Health Institute (PHI), Liverpool John Moores University, is a World Health Organization Collaborating Centre for Violence Prevention, working at local, national and international level to promote a whole system public health approach to violence prevention through advocacy, research and education.

We are seeking a Public Health Researcher to work on a variety of projects focusing on violence prevention, health inequalities, alcohol use and nightlife health with the Violence and Evidence Synthesis research teams.

The main duties of the role involve undertaking systematic literature reviews, study critical appraisal and data extraction, data analysis, and contributing to, and leading on the development and implementation of quantitative and qualitative research and evaluation projects.

Educated to degree level in a health or social science related field you will have previous experience and an understanding of public health, health inequalities and the wellbeing agenda.  You will be responsible for undertaking research, evaluation and evidence synthesis studies with a range of local, national and international partners therefore previous experience of qualitative and quantitative research methodology is essential.

The post will involve some travel to project areas, therefore the ability and willingness to travel is essential.
