Summary
The Department of Pediatrics-Psychology is currently seeking a Generalist Psychologist with broad skill sets in primary care psychology, clinical child psychology and reproductive psychology. The psychologist will be a full-time faculty member of the Baylor College of Medicine (BCM) with a primary appointment (100% FTE) in the Section of Psychology in the Department of Pediatrics. The faculty member will receive administrative direction from the Director of the Centers for Children and Women and the Section of Psychology.
Job Duties
(85% clinical; 15% administrative and teaching). The psychologist in this position will join a team of behavioral health clinicians providing evaluation and intervention services to patients at the Center for Children and Women Greenspoint, an integrated primary care health center serving both OBGYN and pediatric patients. The Center for Children and Women is an NCQA certified patient centered primary care home serving exclusively patients with Texas Children’s Health Plan Medicaid and CHIP insurance. This psychologist will engage in a wide range of clinical activities, including diagnostic assessments, safety assessments, care coordination, medication consultation (in collaboration with scripting PCPs), and delivery of a wide range of evidence-based interventions, including cognitive-behavioral therapy, exposure therapies, behavioral parent training and motivational interviewing. The psychologist will also support recruitment and training of psychology externs, interns and fellows and medical student residents.
Minimum Qualifications
- Clinical Psychologist licensed or license eligible in TX
- Training and/or experience in providing evaluation and intervention services to children, adolescents and/or reproductive patients
- Experience working in an academic medical center, primary care center or other institution where medical patients are served
- At least one-year of experience in supervising psychology graduate students, interns, or postdoctoral students in the evaluation and treatment of psychology patients
- Ability to work well in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong leadership/communication skills
- Bilingual applications strongly encouraged to apply
- Ph.D. or PsyD from an APA accredited graduate school
- Completion of an APA accredited internship
- Completion of fellowship
Licensing:
Must be licensed or license-eligible in Texas and be able to obtain licensing by the end of one year. If you are not currently licensed, please provide a statement of your timeline and accomplishments toward licensure to date (e.g., passed/anticipated date of the EPPP, passed a state jurisprudence exam).
