JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
The College of Engineering, Office of Engineering Research Administration (OERA) is seeking multiple dynamic, hardworking, skilled professionals for the positions of the Proposal and Award Generalist for its pre-award team.
Responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

Assisting in the administration of policies and procedures concerning the preparation and development of proposals and contracts for funding sponsored programs.

Reviewing, analyzing, and processing proposals, contracts, and grants from various federal, state, local agencies and private corporations and foundations.

Advising faculty and staff in interpreting and adhering to sponsor and University guidelines and regulations.

Preparing budgets for proposals and maintaining contract records and reports for sponsored projects.

Assisting in advising and consulting with faculty and staff, Department Heads, Deans and administrative offices on proposal preparation and contract commitments.

Serving as liaison with sponsors and other University offices on behalf of faculty and staff.

Providing back up assistance in all aspects of post-award administration: compliance, reports, invoices, creating new accounts, revised budgets, account transfers, no-cost extension requests, monitoring deadlines, resolving problems.

Assisting in modifying procedures to meet changing regulations and University policies.
Typically requires a Bachelor’s Degree or higher plus two years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience with electronic proposal submission sites, Excel, Word, SIMS Budgets, and SIMBA is preferred. Must be able to thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
