JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

The Penn State College of Medicine, Departments of Urology and Otolaryngology, in Hershey, PA are seeking to hire a full-time Proposal & Award Generalist who is detail oriented and will assist and advise faculty and residents with grant submissions.  This requires reviewing sponsor guidelines and completing the necessary forms for the sponsor and internal procedures before submitting a proposal for external consideration.  This position may distribute funding opportunities, prepare IAFs, monitor timelines, prepare cost share letters and budget drafts, obtain departmental approvals, and format reference lists.  Biosketch preparation, progress reports and subcontract agreements are also handled with certain grant activity.  This position will also advise faculty on and assist with obtaining special approvals for human subjects, invention disclosures, patents, and copyrights.

Systems in use include Microsoft Office suite, SIMS, CATS, Redcap, and Adobe Professional and EndNote.  Ability to manage multiple projects with strict deadlines and work with a variety of faculty members and residents simultaneously is necessary for success in this position.  Pre-Award grant funding experience helpful.

Work performed on and off campus as desired.

TYPICAL EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

2+ years related experience

Associate’s Degree or higher

Or an equivalent combination of education and experience
 

This is a limited-term position funded for one year from date of hire, with possibility of refunding. 

The following clearances must be successfully completed for this position:  

  • Pennsylvania State Police Criminal Background Check  
  • Pennsylvania Child Abuse History
  • Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Criminal Background Check
