Organizational Context and Scope
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission and the direct supervision of the Programme Manager, the Project Officer (Socio-Economic Integration, Child Protection, and Livelihood) will mainly be responsible for the implementation of the project “Project to Support Socio-Economic Integration and Well-being Initiatives for Mobile Families and Children in Guinea,” financed by the Directorate General for Development Cooperation of the Italian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, through the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS).
The project aims to strengthen national and community-level capacities to protect displaced and returning migrant children living in vulnerable and dangerous conditions in Guinea. It focuses on improving coordination among governmental institutions, civil society organizations, communities, and other relevant stakeholders to enhance child protection systems, reinforce community-based protection mechanisms, and support informed decision-making within families and communities.
Particular attention is given to mobile families and children affected by migration, displacement, and return.
Within this framework, the Project Officer will assist in the planning, implementation, coordination, monitoring, and reporting of project activities, in compliance with IOM regulations, donor requirements, and the standards and procedures of Italian funding via AICS. The Project Officer will also contribute to resilience and livelihood programme activities, particularly those focused on migration-related livelihoods, vocational training, skills development, and socio-economic integration, targeting mobile families, children, and vulnerable communities.

All IOM staff members in all categories are required to be fluent in one of the IOM’s official languages (English, French, Spanish).
For this position, fluency in English and French is required (oral and written).
Working knowledge of another official UN language (Arabic, Chinese, Russian and Spanish) is an advantage.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
