This fixed-term role is part of a successful funding application from the National Heritage Lottery (NLHF) fund titled ‘Making Mischief: seasonal customs and the living heritage of folk dress in Britain’. This project is led by Centre for Fashion Curation, University of the Arts London and Museum of British Folklore.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, engaged and professional Project Officer to oversee the project management of this exciting programme of exhibitions and events across two sites – Compton Verney, Warwickshire and London College of Fashion, Stratford site. The project and the Project Officer role starts in November 2022, finishing October 2024.

As Making Mischief’s Project Officer, you will have experience working on arts projects within museums and institutions. You will support the project leader through managing day-to-day finances and the overall budget, co-ordinating collaborator meetings and schedules and managing their travel. You will have a keen eye for detail, ensuring that the project administration is effective in achieving our aims and objectives.

Strong communication skills are important for this role – you will be the central point of contact for various collaborators across two sites as well as external partners on events and exhibitions.

As this is an intense programme of events and exhibitions over a limited period of time, a knowledge of British and world folklore heritage would be advantageous.

University of the Arts London is a vibrant world centre for innovation, drawing together six Colleges with international reputations in art, design, fashion, communication and performing arts.

London College of Fashion is extremely proud to be a global leader in fashion education, research and consultancy. Much of its success is down to its dedicated employees, and you will play an important role in shaping future creative professionals, and impact on the future of so many creative industries.

London College of Fashion, UAL is undertaking an unprecedented programme of change. In 2023 we will be consolidating our existing six sites into a new purpose built campus as part of a new education and cultural district in the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park. Ahead of this move, we welcome applications from candidates who live in and around East London, as well as from those keen to join us on this exciting and unique opportunity in our College’s history.
