About the Role
The University of Melbourne has purchased a 7.2-hectare site in the heart of the Fishermans Bend Employment Precinct to build a world-class engineering and design campus for large, experimental research, hands-on learning and collaboration with industry.
As the Project Officer, you will be a key member of the project team and work closely with colleagues to support this complex project. You will demonstrate and support good project management practices and contribute to the management of key project functions including program administration, governance, communications, finances and procurement. You will also be required to undertake committee management including the preparation of agendas, minutes, reports and presentations; being responsible for components of broader work programs and/or small subprojects.
Responsibilities include:
Draft and contribute to the drafting of relevant project documentation
Support project coordination including but not limited to supporting the effective workings of the project team, key stakeholders, workshops and business case and project brief activities
Providing support to project and other relevant University committees, meetings and workshops
Research and data gathering, including research and analysis to provide recommendations
About You
You will have high level interpersonal and communication skills with a demonstrated ability to liaise and work effectively with stakeholders in a large and complex organisation. You will also have strong written skills, including the ability to draft reports, project documents, correspondence, meeting minutes and presentations. Along with your ability to work independently and as part of a team, you will also bring high level organisational and planning skills, including the ability to prioritise workload and plan and deliver multiple project activities concurrently.
You will also have:
Degree level qualifications in a relevant discipline or an equivalent mix of education and relevant experience
Ability to conceptualise and follow complex project information, to work with and manage ambiguity and to identify and follow up issues while keeping relevant senior team members informed
Good computing skills, with proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project, MS PowerPoint and MS Outlook
Experience in design communication software (e.g., Adobe Creative Cloud, Unreal Engine) or project communication software (Aconex or similar)
Experience supporting the development of major initiatives and/or strategies
