Do you have a strong agricultural background and qualifications and have well developed administrative, communications & engagement skills?  The School of Health, Medical and Applied Sciences is seeking a skilled professional to provide support to key Agri-Tech Education projects and team members. 

 

The Agri-Tech team is responsible for innovative programs which are aimed at increasing the skills and knowledge of the current and next generation agricultural workforce in Agri-tech tools and systems. We work with key stakeholders across the agricultural industry to develop and implement a range of learning opportunities for educators, students and those working in the agricultural industry to build their capacity to use data and technology to support decision making across the supply chain. All of our projects aim to showcase the scientific and digital skills required in the agricultural industry to upskill the current agricultural workforce and attract the next generation to work in the food and fibre production sector.

 

You will work to ensure key project milestones are met, and develop and deliver resources and activities which promote the successful delivery of high profile activities and projects.  You will also play a major role in the development and implementation of public relations and communication strategies which promote engagement with these projects.

Position Requirements

  • Proven communications/public relations skills with ability to implement communication and engagement strategies using multiple platforms and media;
  • Proven ability to draft and collate visually appealing documents and reports for management;
  • Proven ability to support projects, ensuring key milestones are met and obligations are met
  • Ability to communicate effectively to stakeholders at all levels, and an ability to interpret and translate industry issues to others.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision in a research support role on agricultural education and extension research projects to collect data, as well as actively participating as an effective member of a multidisciplinary team.
