Who are we looking for?

Queensland University of Technology (QUT) is seeking a Project Manager, QUT You Festival of Learning
to join , Education Portfolio, Academic Division.

The Project Manager, QUT You Festival of Learning, position sits in the Academic Division and works alongside Professor Rowena Barrett, Pro Vice-Chancellor (Entrepreneurship) in her role as Festival Director. The position holder is responsible for leading the development, delivery and implementation of the new QUT You Festival of Learning unit that incorporates a 10-day festival of student learning experiences.

The Project Manager, QUT You Festival of Learning, will liaise with members of the QUT You project team, the Festival Working Group, Festival project team, Academic and Divisional members at QUT, and other internal and external stakeholders who form part of and/or contribute to this project.

The Project Manager draws on their knowledge, skills and experience to provide high-level advice and guidance to internal and external stakeholders regarding the management of this project and associated practices, policies and processes.

About the Academic Division

The Academic Division is responsible for supporting and delivering learning, teaching, research and research services to students and staff. This is realised via the Education and Research portfolios and through the work of our Faculties.

The Head of the Academic Division is the Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Academic), Professor Robina Xavier. Professor Xavier provides strategic oversight and financial management of the Division and provides leadership to the Education portfolio.

The Division’s Research portfolio and academic faculties, are led by the Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor and Vice-President (Research), Professor Christopher Barner-Kowollik.

What you need to succeed

You will demonstrate:

  • Relevant education, training, and/or project management experience, to deliver a complex and innovative creative festival or large scale experiential learning project .
  • Proven and significant expertise, capability and skills in the end-to-end application of contemporary project management techniques, tools, methodologies and stakeholder management to successfully deliver festivals, events and/or similar activities within time, budget and quality parameters.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and managing a holistic program of learning activities, their scheduling and logistics in budget and time constraints while maintaining positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Excellent ability to prepare clear and concise documentation for varied audiences, in addition to excellent oral, written and interpersonal communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate to for positive engagement.
  • Demonstrated excellence in time and organisational management, creative problem-solving and organisational skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines whilst maintaining attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex issues, manage risk and develop creative and novel solutions to achieve continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability in managing and participating as a team member in team-based projects and working autonomously.
  • Demonstrated high level of digital literacy, including the ability to use project management software and digital collaboration platforms, as well as computer software packages such as Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

    Remuneration: Total remuneration range: $150,440 to $168,264 (HEW10) (inclusive of $127,124 to $142,185 pa salary; 17% superannuation; and 17.5% recreation leave loading)
