Position Summary

This position is responsible for managing an internal research grant program relating to consumer protection and consumer justice. Please visit Consumer Protection Research Grant for more information.

This role will serve several functions, (1) administer the grant process within the University of Oregon, monitoring activity, spending, and reporting as the project manager; (2) develop and execute communication and outreach plans for each grant, research, or other projects to maximize the impact of this work; (3) coordinate the activities of the committee responsible for making grant awards; (4) managing the rollout and publicity of the requests for proposals within the university; (5) coordinating programs and continuing education offerings related to consumer justice in Oregon, which may involve supervising student workers.

This is a 1.0 FTE funding contingent position. Continuation of the position is subject to funding under a ten-year grant and the terms and conditions of that grant.

This position currently reports to the committee chair, who reports to the University of Oregon School of Law’s Dean.

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or four additional years of experience in the areas below.
• Two years’ experience in program/project management or high-level program/project coordination, such as administering grants, research programs, or similar.

Professional Competencies

• Demonstrated ability to 1) work effectively with students, staff, and faculty from culturally diverse backgrounds and with multiple intersectional identities; and 2) advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in the university community.
• Experience managing complex projects, timelines, and deliverables.
• Experience in budgeting and accounting.
• Experience or relevant knowledge relating to marketing and community outreach.
• Familiarity and experience with relevant software, such as Dropbox, Qualtrics, Excel, Outlook, and Zoom.
• Ability to work independently and be a self-starter, as well as establish effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders.
• Exercises excellent judgment and makes good decisions independently and in a timely manner, even when information is limited.
• Excellent attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with systems and processes in a large, complex organization.
• A background or interest in consumer protection issues or law.
