Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Project Manager in Psychiatric Rehabilitation & Counseling Professions in School of Health Professions.
The Integrated Employment Institute (IEI) provides research-based training and guidance to providers, educators, consumers, and service systems so individuals with mental health conditions can flourish in the work environment or the classroom. We are currently looking for a seasoned Project Manager to oversee the work of the IEI team. Successful applicants must be well versed in the principles and methods of psychiatric rehabilitation and have experience providing and/or supervising supported employment and/or supported education services. They must also have a work history that includes successful management of a psychiatric rehabilitation, vocational rehabilitation, or related behavioral healthcare program. The ideal candidate will also be well versed in implementation science methodologies and frameworks.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
  • Define yearly project scope and objectives based on the deliverables of the grant.
  • Predict resources and technology needed to reach objectives and manage resources in an effective and efficient manner.
  • Ensure adherence to the budget based on scope of work and resource requirements.
  • Develop and manage a detailed project schedule and work plan using a system of reminders and progress updates.
  • Provides project updates on a consistent basis to various stakeholders, such as the New Jersey Division of Mental Health and
    Addiction Services (NJDMHAS) and organizations the contract with the IEI.
  • Ensures industry best practices, techniques, and standards for both in-person and online professional education programs.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement Under Policy 60.1.35 , Rutgers University requires all prospective employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the individual a medical or religious exemption. Prospective employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment must provide proof they have received a booster within two weeks (14 calendar days) of eligibility . Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of any COVID-19 vaccine authorized or approved for use in the United States by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and recommended by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP) of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Eligibility for a booster against COVID-19 varies and is explained on the University’s web site located at https://coronavirus.rutgers.edu/covid-19-vaccine . Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a prospective employee’s offer of employment and/or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in a social science.
  • At least 5 years of project management and related experience.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Proven ability to solve problems creatively.
  • Familiarity with project management software tools, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle.
  • Excellent analytical skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Advanced degree(s).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Experience providing evidenced-based psychiatric rehabilitation interventions.
