The School of Medicine, Department of Neurology at the University of Pittsburgh is seeking an experienced Project Manager who will participate in the research activities of the UPMC Stroke Institute. The Project Manager will provide oversight for multi-site research protocols. The individual will assist with identification of research sites and facilitation of contract and budget execution with research sites. The Project Manager will assist with implementation of the protocol at research sites and will provide training to sites on the research protocol and data systems. The individual will verify protocol and regulatory compliance across research sites. The Project Manager will lead planning and progress meetings with individuals within the central coordinating center, the study sponsor and/or funding agency, as well as external research sites. The Project Manager will also prepare and submit research progress reports to relevant study sponsors and/or funding agencies.

The Project Manager will also provide day-to-day support for ongoing studies within UPMC Stroke Institute, including subject recruitment and maintenance of research documents/case report forms and source documents. The Project Manager would work independently with study sponsors, Investigational Drug Services, and local and/or central Institutional Review Boards (IRBs). Strong communication skills are essential. Involvement in clinical work will be required including study participant assessments, minor laboratory skills and obtaining of samples from study participants. Flexible daytime/evening hours may be necessary given the requirements of this position. There will be on-call responsibilities and some travel for patient follow up as needed.

 

Equivalent combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted; however, master’s degree still preferred. Registered Nurse preferred. One of the following are preferred experiences: -Project Manager or Clinical Research Coordinator in a University environment; – experience working with stroke patients, or other chronic health conditions. Organizational skills, communication skills, and problem solving skills.
