This is a grant-funded position and reassignment will be based upon performance, progress toward research goals and continuation of funding. Some travel required.

Purpose

The Project Manager will support the Director of the Addiction Recovery Institute (ARI) in development related to strategic planning, business operations, employment, recruiting, and implementation of projects as directed by the ARI executive team.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Director and Executive Team with strategic planning to define and implement the vision of the Addiction Resource Institute (ARI) to execute the organization’s goals and objectives. Build and strengthen business relationships to support and increase recognition and diversify funding sources. Support the strategic and business needs of Director and Executive Team to enable thoughtful options that serve emerging needs.
  • Assist Director with job development, recruitment and training of new faculty and staff. Supervise staff, students and interns as required. Strategize, design, implement and execute a portfolio of professional development opportunities. Consult with different departments to identify professional development resources and identify experts to deliver workshops, create materials, and offer feedback. Research, coordinate and design learning offerings. Evaluate the impact of these programs.
  • Collaborate with the Director on business development and operations including raising funds to support the education and outreach programs by seeking support from private foundations, donors, private industry and other state and federal sponsors (funders). Assist with grant preparation and work with faculty to create grans educational programs related to their research. Oversee and manage ARI budget and other faculty research budgets and needed. Implement process improvement and efficient workflow management techniques.
  • Develop, design, implement and facilitate events with event planning and management. Represent ARI at high-profile events, committee meetings, and work-groups. Attend conferences and professional development meetings pertinent to advancing the growth of the Addiction Research Institute (ARI) both regionally and nationally.
  • Manage the education, outreach, communication, and marketing for the Addiction Resource Institute (ARI). Receive general direction regarding the planning, design, development and operations of educational and outreach programs.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with 5 years project management experience in relevant area of assignment. Will work in fast paced and dynamic growing department and institute. Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills. Demonstrated organizational skills. Demonstrated ability to build relationships, communicate effectively and utilize strong organizational skills. Excellent attention to detail. Ability to follow-through with strong problem-solving skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. Willingness to learn other technologies as necessary. Some travel required. Ability to work independently and on a team. Values the contributions of others in a diverse work environment.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

More than the required 5 years project management experience. Demonstrated ability to build and develop relationships with communities, businesses and other external partners. Experience with business operations and event planning.

Driving Required

This job requires a class “C” operator’s driver’s license. The applicant selected must provide a current three year driving record from the current state of residence. If not currently a Texas resident, a Texas driver’s license must be obtained within 30 days of becoming a Texas resident.

Salary Range

$85,000 + depending on qualifications
