The Department of Biomedical Services is seeking to recruit a Project Licence Drafting Assistant with suitable skills to carry out tasks within the Home Office Administration Unit and Training team.

About the Role

This is a full-time position, 37.5 hours per week.

The post holder will provide drafting advice and assistance to principle investigators applying for project licences under the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986, to support their biomedical research programmes. The post holder will also act as secretary to one of the Animal Welfare and Ethical Review Boards. 

About you

You are required to hold a biological science degree or equivalent qualification.   

You will have excellent communication skills including the ability to write for publications, present research proposals and results, and represent the research group at meetings and have an extensive knowledge of the Animals (Scientific Procedures) Act 1986. This post holder will report directly to Home Office Administration Unit Supervisor.

You will be highly organised with excellent attention to detail, able to prioritise your own workload in a busy and demanding environment.
