The Center for Precision Medicine and Genomics (CPMG) at Columbia University Medical Center in New York, NY (http://columbiamedicine.org/cpmg/) seeks a dynamic, energetic Project Coordinator to support the planning, development and implementation of an NIH-funded study that investigates ethical, legal and social issues (ELSI) relating to the inclusion of adults with intellectual disabilities in precision medicine research and develops a protocol-adaptable consent toolkit to assist precision medicine researchers in including adults with intellectual disability. This study is a collaboration between Columbia and Syracuse Universities. The ideal candidate has prior experience in mixed-methods research and interest in disability studies.
Responsibilities
Conduct academic literature review relevant for the study.
Conduct quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses.
Assist with development of consent toolkit.
Plan, observe and/or facilitate online focus groups with diverse populations
Conduct interviews, perform data collection and code survey responses.
Assist with data analyses, data management, and manuscript preparation.
Plan and coordinate multi-stakeholder meetings.
Communicate and coordinate work with researchers, collaborators and Project Manager.
Perform additional related duties as needed or assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in education, training and experience, plus two years of related experience
Demonstrated interest in ethics and/or disability studies
Outstanding written and oral communication and presentation skills, including effective verbal and written communication
Ability to work well independently and complete assignments in a timely manner
Ability to prioritize multiple tasks to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines
Comfortable with research technologies and online platforms for research
Ability to give close attention to detail and learn new skills (e.g., disability accessibility)
Preferred Qualifications
Advanced degree in public health, social sciences, or other related field
Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data collection and analyses
Familiarity with disability studies and/or ELSI research
