Location – This role is in person at North Campus Edmonton. Hybrid work is available after probation.

Working for the Faculty of Nursing

The Faculty of Nursing at the University of Alberta is ranked #1 in Canada and # 5 in the world (2023 QS Rankings by Subject). Nursing offers undergraduate programs leading to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BScN) degree, a BSc.N bilingual, or a BScN Honors degree. Graduate programs include a Master of Nursing with four areas of focus: Education, Leadership, Research and Advanced Clinical-Nurse Practioner Focus, in addition to a PhD. 

Position 

We are seeking a highly organized Project Coordinator to support a number of key initiatives including the Global Nursing Office and a variety of other projects. Reporting to the Faculty General Manager (FGM), the position also works closely with the Academic Coordinator Global Nursing Office, and other leadership positions. The incumbent will also work with various Service Partners (HR, Finance, Research, Marketing & Communications) and liaises with the Staff Service Centre, Centres of Expertise and the College of Health Sciences as required.

Duties 

The Project Coordinator is responsible for a range of duties:

  • Supports the Global Nursing Office by onboarding and supporting international visitors (International Graduate Student and Postdoctoral Visiting Scholars), and other program activities
  • Serves as an advisor and steward for special projects (i.e. quality assurance, EDI initiatives)
  • Provide administrative support, report writing, and project-specific tasks- Supports the Awards Nomination Committee (schedule meetings, track awards, award letters)
  • Coordinates and implements special events

Minimum Qualifications

  • High School Diploma required
  • 3-5 years of administration and project management experience required
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, capable of working effectively with diverse audiences
  • Strong organizational skills, with an ability to manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously
  • Computer proficiency using MS Office Application (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Suite)

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preference for an undergraduate degree or higher
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures related to University is an asset
  • Knowledge of and experience working with international students/visitors is an asset
  • Experience with event planning and implementation is an asset
  • Experience working in a post secondary institution is an asset
