About the Department

The Learning Commons provides free centralized academic support for all University of Cincinnati students. We bring together faculty, best-practices in teaching and learning, and hundreds of outstanding peer educators to create flexible academic success programming. Each year more than 6,000 students take advantage of Learning Commons Programs to build confidence, integrate on campus, and master challenging course content.

Job Overview

The Program Manager for Marketing and Office Management will serve in a centralized role at the Learning Commons reporting directly to the Director for the Learning Commons. This position oversees a wide range of marketing and office management responsibilities including but not limited to messaging to faculty and students about Learning Commons services, video creation and editing, managing social media, as well as maintaining regular office management such as technology and room reservations. This position will have the option to work in a hybrid environment – both in the office and remotely.

Essential Functions

  • Design/create marketing materials in collaboration with the marketing temp or marketing student workers including but not limited to social media, videos, and website content.
  • Maintain and update the Learning Commons Marketing and Communication plan.
  • Assess the marketing strategies for the Learning Commons.
  • Oversee the Learning Commons marketing budget.
  • May provide direct supervision to student or temporary staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Represent the Learning Commons at campus-wide events such as Welcome Week.
  • Office management such as updating technology, tracking supply inventory, and sending office requests to UCIT and Facilities Management.
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Seven (7) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

Three (3) years of relevant experience.

Additional Qualifications Considered

  • Bachelor’s degree in digital media, marketing, or related field.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Desire to learn new skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and adapt to office needs.
  • Ability to function well in a quick-paced environment.
  • Proficient with Adobe Creative Cloud, Canva, Buffer (or other content scheduling platforms), Microsoft Office Suite or other related software(s).

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
