Job Overview

The Program Manager serves as a key member of the Academic Operations department and is responsible for ensuring the successful management of various administrative practices for degree-seeking programs at the School of Continuing Studies.

They provide key support to students through onboarding to registration in the first semester of matriculation at the School of Continuing Studies; and are responsible for administrative practices to encourage students to accept enrollment and register in their first semester.

As well, they have operational responsibility, which facilitates administration for academic programs, including support in academic course scheduling, and the development and management of a communications strategy for academic programs within their cluster.

The Program Director collaborates with program staff and faculty when supporting student initiatives, including oversight and management of the event creation process for the cluster and the department – and involving ideation, logistics, catering, and coordination with the SCS Events Team.

Work Interactions

1. Assistant and Associate Deans and Faculty Directors – workswith the assistant and associate deans and faculty directors to design, develop course schedules, student advising structures, student experience events, and beyond.
2. SCS Academic Operations – works with the department on strategies for operational initiatives focused on the student experience.
3. SCS Enrollment Management – works with SCS Enrollment Management to liaise on goals, strategies, processes, and issues that arise; collaborates on specific enrollment issues involving courses or programs.
4. SCS Events Team – works with the SCS Events Team on various academic, professional, and social events.
5. Faculty, Staff, Students – manages the communication and service strategy with faculty and students within the academic programs.
6. Joins all SCS employees in supporting support Tropaia and Commencement.

7. No supervisory responsibilities.

Qualifications
 

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • At least three years of administrative experience. Student affairs experience preferred
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • Strong writing and communication skills, including comfort with public presentations to a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to work cooperatively and strategically in a team environment with all levels of professional, technical, and administrative staff; and to integrate resources on a timely and organized basis
  • Demonstrated expertise in a variety of the field’s concepts, practices, and procedure
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals
  • Commitment to the mission of the School of Continuing Studies and the vision of Dean
  • A sense of humor and a desire to work with a variety of people in expanding the work of the SCS
  • Fluency with all Microsoft office products
