Description

The University of Alabama at Birmingham (UAB) seeks a Program Director II. Program development, content, and administration in the Office of Research including planning research symposiums, seminars, faculty events and programs, training activities, (arrange speakers, travel, contracts, venues, etc.) and other activities. Will establish program objectives and supervise staff towards the completion of these objectives. Will prepare reports detailing achievement of metrics being tracked for the research pillar of the strategic plan.  Assisting the Associate Dean with communicating with the faculty to learn more about their current work, and facilitating research and associated extramural funding applications.
 
Key Duties, Primary Responsibilities:

•    Directs operations of a programmatic function
•    Operates with a high degree of independence 
•    Responsible for program development, content and administration
•    Establishes program objectives, manages programmatic fiscal activities, supervises staff engaged in carrying out program activities and may require grant writing and/or other ability to secure program funding
•    Prepares various reports for program

Annual Salary Range  – $60,835 – $79,085



Qualifications

Qualifications:

•    Bachelor’s degree in a related field 
•    Five (5) years of related experience required
•    Work experience may not substitute for education requirement

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•    Master’s degree in public health or related field 
•    3 years of experience writing NIH grants for a variety of activity codes
•    Experience in the conduct and administration of research at UAB and complying with the ensuing regulatory policies
