About the Department

The Testing Services Office is part of the University of Cincinnati Academic Excellent and Support Services, located in the Division of Student Affairs. Testing Services coordinates the administration of classroom tests for students with disabilities at University of Cincinnati.

Job Overview

This position reports to the Director of Testing Services and manages the placement services, credentialing testing and other testing services provided by the colleges’ testing center, including testing accommodations, make-up testing, and online and in-person proctoring.  The Program Coordinator will serve both UC Blue Ash and UC Clermont campuses on designated days, according to the needs of the department.

Essential Functions

  • Oversees a college-wide placement assessment program and coordinates the delivery of academic placement services with other campus programs (such as admissions and orientation) to provide seamless services for students.
  • Conduct both in-person and online placement tests at local high schools and on-campus.
  • Schedule and create placement testing communication and distribute to new students.
  • Administers, proctors, scores, and transmits results of all tests administered by the Testing Center. Observes college, state/federal, and test agency policies and procedures for security/confidentiality of testing records; includes adherence to FERPA as it relates to the College and testing services.
  • Coordinates, schedules, and oversees all College and high-stakes exam proctoring for other departments, outside certification agencies and other colleges.
  • Maintains Testing Center statistics including number of people tested, number of tests given and type of tests. Prepares monthly and annual reports and makes recommendations to the supervisor concerning program implications.
  • Manage, design, develop, modify and present programs. Perform program needs assessment and make recommendations.
  • Implement policies and procedures.
  • Approve, and monitor expenditures, review contracts, prepare budget requests and financial reports.
  • Act as liaison to internal departments, external entities, and community organizations.
  • May provide direct and/or indirect supervision to exempt and non-exempt staff (i.e., hiring/firing, performance evaluations, disciplinary action, approve time off, etc.).
  • Perform related duties based on departmental need. This job description can be changed at any time.

Required Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree.
  • Five (5) years of relevant work experience and/or other specialized training can be used in lieu of education requirement.

Required Experience

One (1) year of program coordination experience.

Physical Requirements/Work Environment

  • Office environment/no specific unusual physical or environmental demands.
