Job Description:

The High School Programs Career and Technical Education (CTE) coordinator works under the supervision of the Director of High School Programs to provide additional support to high school partnerships. The primary purpose of this position is to serve as a liaison between school districts and Aims Community College for all concurrent enrollment initiatives that are focused in a CTE pathway. These pathways include, on campus CTE offerings, CTE pathways at high school locations, district career and innovation locations, and Pathways in Technology Early College High School (PTECH) programs. The CTE Coordinator plays a vital role in ensuring timely and accurate communication of Aims Community College policies, procedures, expectations and best practices. In addition to supporting our external partners and their CTE initiatives, this position will work closely with internal stakeholders such as department chairs and other program coordinators at Aims Community College to achieve strategic and programmatic goals. Additionally, the High School Programs CTE Coordinator will also maintain accurate information in our High School Programs handbook, High School Programs course catalog, and on our website. Finally, this position supports the overall initiatives, strategic tactics, or any other task that contributes to the High School Division or institution as a whole.

Career and Technical Education Pathway Support:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between external stakeholders and internal stakeholders as it pertains to concurrent enrollment pathways with a CTE focus.

  • Work closely with department chairs and program coordinators at Aims Community College on strategic initiatives that involve High School Programs and CTE.

  • Working closely with high school counselors, to inform and advise high school students on the various CTE opportunities.

  • Provide accurate and up to date program and course information to high school partners. Including degree and certificate information.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for Pathways in Technology Early College programs.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for high school innovation and career campuses, including but not limited to SVVSD Innovation Campus, SVVSD Career Center, PSD Futures Lab, Adams-12 BTECH, and TSD Career Center.

  • Work in coordination with Aims Community College admissions Counseling and Recruitment Office, Registration Office, Advising department, and other members of the high school programs team to troubleshoot various issues and problems.

  • Stay up to date on Aims Community College policies and procedures, statewide legislation, and best practices as they pertain to concurrent enrollment and CTE.

Supporting High School Programs:

  • Collaborate with other members of the High School Programs office to support initiatives, strategic tactics, or any other tasks that contribute to the goals of the overall division.

  • Work closely with the Director of High School Programs on CTE-focused concurrent enrollment offerings in high schools.

  • Working closely with the Director of High School Programs and other internal stakeholders to develop CTE-focused pathways for high school students.

Maintain High School Programs Information:

  • Maintain and update our High School Program instructor handbook.

  • Maintain and update our High School Program course catalog.

  • Maintain and update our High School program website to provide the most up-to-date information.

  • Work closely with High School Program staff to maintain and disseminate High School information sheets.

Other Duties as Assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Higher Education, Business Administration, or other related field plus three (3) years of experience as an instructor, counselor, advisor, administrator or within a concurrent enrollment programs or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.

  • Excellent oral communication, written communication, and inter-personal skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with concurrent enrollment programs.

  • Experience with both secondary and post-secondary education.

  • Higher Education experience in a Career and Technical Education

Minimum Payment Amount:

$48,431.00

Employees in these positions may be asked to participate in temporary assignments lasting less than 6 months (such as curriculum development, short term projects, meetings and substitute duties) which could amount to additional temporary pay.
