Program Coordinator – Film Studies

The Film, Television and Interactive Media (FTIM) is looking for a Program Coordinator who will manage the administrative aspects of the FTIM program and provide support for the FTIM program chair. The administrative aspects of the program pertain to budgeting, organizing events and travel, assisting with management of the Wasserman Cinematheque, creating informational communications for the Brandeis community, etc. The coordinator will be the central point of contact for the FITM program.

This is a part time position – 17.5 hours weekly and is eligible for benefits

Essential & Other Functions

  • Administrative: Responsible for administrative functions including event coordination, publicity, travel arrangements, correspondence within and outside the university. Provide assistance to FITM faculty, visiting faculty and guest speakers as needed. 30 %

  • Online/Media: Organize informational communications to Brandeis community and majors/minors (via Brandeis listserve and social media) for FTIM events. Manage FTIM website, keeping information up to date and web design current. 20 %

  • Wasserman Cinematheque: Responsible for oversight of Wasserman theater schedule, ordering and checking in of equipment and screening materials, and FTIM equipment housed with LTS. Ensure cinematheque policies and procedures are followed. 20 %

  • Academics/Students: Manage student records, mailing lists, and Undergraduate Department Representatives. Keep record of FTIM courses, program offerings, events and co-sponsorships. Assist Undergraduate Advising Head with functions including managing majors/minors, course enrollment issues, and curriculum planning. Perform degree audits for FTIM concentrators. 10 %

  • Budgetary: Manage FTIM budgets for department funds, endowments and gifts. Communicate budget projections and other periodic reports to the Chair. Reconcile expenses to the University’s PeopleSoft system and comply with University’s policies and procedures. Process reimbursements, purchases, honoraria, etc. 10 %

  • Provide support for FTIM Chair. Other duties as required, including providing coverage for essential administrative functions in HIST and POL during vacations, sick days, and other times of extraordinary demand. 10 %

Job Requirement

  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience required

  • Education: HS with a BS/BA strongly preferred
