Posting Summary Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey is seeking a Program Coordinator for the Gastroenterology and Hepatology-Liver Transplantation Division within the New Jersey Medical School. Under the direction of the Division Administrator, the Program Coordinator coordinates and/or participates in the production of various Division projects and reports. Designs and coordinates the development of comprehensive planning documents for the division within the prescribed time frame and funding parameters.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:

  • Plans, maintains and manages the daily, weekly and monthly schedules for all division faculty.
  • Communicates changes of schedules among all GI and Hepatology shareholders.
  • Processes all applications for GI and Hepatology fellow and is responsible for making all interview arrangements for prospective fellows.
  • Provides all administrative support to both Gastroenterology and Hepatology fellowship programs.
  • Participates in post-selection process for fellowship program. Manages Clinical Trial project fund accounts for the Division.
  • Manages divisional funds for GI and Hepatology.

COVID-19 Immunization Requirement

Rutgers University requires all new employees to provide proof that they are fully vaccinated and have received a booster (where eligible) against COVID-19 prior to commencement of employment, unless the University has granted the employee a medical or religious exemption. Employees who are not eligible for a booster at the time of an offer of employment provide proof they have received a booster upon eligibility and upload proof of same. Based on current guidance, individuals are considered fully vaccinated against COVID-19 two weeks after receiving the final dose of a vaccine approved or authorized for emergency use in the United States or a vaccine that has been listed for emergency use by the World Health Organization. Failure to provide proof of primary vaccination and booster will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.

Qualifications

Minimum Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree plus three (3) years of experience as indicated.
  • Equivalent experience, education and/or training may be substituted for the education requirements.

Certifications/Licenses
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, communication, writing, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in the application of information systems and technology and use of the Internet.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree (Journalism and English a minimum of two (2) years of appropriate experience in desktop publishing, journalism, writing, and editing.
  • Background in community relations, health or higher education
