Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00am to 4:45pm; occasional evenings

Job Summary: The Program Coordinator is responsible for the overall daily administration of one or more programs. Serves as a liaison between program and other departments or community.

Additional Department Summary: The Culverhouse College of Business recently celebrated 100 years of insurance education. The Risk Management & Insurance curriculum has a long and storied history, which includes recognition by the International Insurance Society (IIS) as a Global Center for Insurance Excellence (GCIE). Our program is one of only 34 such programs in 11 countries with this esteemed recognition. As IIS President and CEO, Mike Morrissey, notes, “the GCIE designation signals the industry as to where the top talent is being cultivated and in doing so, builds the prominence of the world’s leading insurance programs, which are effectively serving as the top-tier talent pipeline.”

The RMI/As Program Coordinator works independently and takes ownership of programming initiatives such as career fairs, Alabama Insurance Day, Alabama Insurance Planning Commission (AIPC), and student placements for full-time and internship opportunities. This individual also works closely with our donors, many of which are senior level insurance executives in a global environment.

This position will be required to work evenings and weekends as necessary to support events and student programming.

Required Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree and two (2) years of experience.

Skills and Knowledge: Ability to manage multiple projects. Attention to detail. Ability to work with external support organizations such as Alabama Insurance Planning Commission and the Alabama Actuarial Council. Excellent communication skills. Ability to take photos and video for social media use. Proficient with mobile devices and common social media apps. Proficiency in using a variety of Microsoft Office and Google Suite programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, & PowerPoint, Blackboard, Google Drive, graphic design software and survey tools such as Qualtrics for maintaining program status reports, database management, external presentations, and budgetary reconciliations.
