Pay Grade/Pay Range:  55 Hourly (non-exempt) – Minimum – $ 12.88 Midpoint – $ 18.81

Normal Work Schedule: Monday – Friday 8:00 a.m. – 4:45 p.m.

Job Summary: Under limited supervision, assists the department head or director in the day-to-day operations of a program. Oversees the program support, general office, administrative and secretarial duties with some variety and complexity. Typical duties may include overseeing some aspects of the program, acting as the main liaison to other offices within the University as well as external contacts, maintaining budget records, supervising other support staff and-or students, arranging meetings-itineraries-agendas, typing a variety of material, compiling data and preparing reports, and purchasing office and program supplies and materials.

Additional Department Summary: The Program Assistant for Outreach Coordination guides and implements efforts to engage substance use community stakeholders in efforts to establish and maintain strategic working relationships. Builds relationships, develops and maintains partnerships, and builds coalition. Represents the University to a wide variety of constituencies and stakeholders (institutional leaders, nonprofit managers, community leaders, and grass roots community members). Works with diverse populations.

Required Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or the equivalent and three (3) years of general office experience; OR Associate’s degree and one (1) year of general office experience; OR a Bachelor’s degree.

Skills and Knowledge: Excellent time management and organizational skills . Excellent communication skills with diverse populations, community leaders and stakeholders. Effective communication skills across a variety of platforms (print, social media, etc.). Ability to work individually or in a group. Proficient in the use of appropriate computer software. Familiarity with community leaders, stakeholders and resources such as faith-based organizations, local clinics and small businesses, mental health/substance use and recovery clinics, education and health care systems, and political cultures in Greene/Sumter Counties. Knowledge of substance use disorder and the system of care.

Preferred Qualifications: Associates degree or higher in a related field and some experience working with diverse populations.
