The Department of Pediatrics has an opening for a full-time University Staff (unclassified) Program Coordinator position.

Nature of Work

Kempe is a world leader in the prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. We bring together leading research and treatment professionals, policy makers and community members to make sure every child has the opportunity to develop and grow in a safe, healthy, and nurturing environment.  SafeCare® Colorado is a state-wide partnership between the Kempe Center and the Colorado Department of Human Services as a voluntary service for families in an effort to prevent entry or re-entry to the child welfare system. The program is designed for high risk families with children ages zero to five years.

This position will serve as Program Coordinator, an integral part of the SafeCare Colorado Team. Duties will include training preparation and support, implementation team meeting preparation and support, Parent Support Provider onboarding activities, conference and paper submissions. Additional duties will include, collaborating with Kempe SafeCare® team members on all aspects of operations of implementing SafeCare® in collaboration with the State of Colorado. The incumbent will assist Kempe faculty with evaluation, research, and administrative tasks related to SafeCare®. As the Program Coordinator, this position will complete and participate in other duties, tasks, and improvements as they arise.

Examples of Work Performed:

  • Develop program manual and annual training plan for SafeCare® Colorado
  • Support Kempe Trainers with the development and implementation of manuals and site material
  • Assist with site coach plan expansion
  • Serve as the technology liaison between Parent Support Providers and SafeCare® Colorado support staff
  • Organize and order Parent Support Provider trainings and material 
  • Track Parent Support Provider and Coach certification progress
  • Organize and initiate onboarding activities related to bringing on Parent Support Providers, interns and other support staff 
  • Assist with the creation and dissemination of various program materials
  • Arrange online trainings, track training completion, assist with delivery and tracking of online survey
  • Ensure communication between all stakeholders on the SafeCare® Colorado Team
  • Provide recommendations for change in task responsibilities or adjustments to the timeline if necessary
  • Assist with recruiting program interns 
  • Plan and arrange meeting logistics including venues, scheduling meetings, booking rooms, preparing meeting equipment (computer, projector, etc.) and materials and cleaning up
  • Take/circulate meeting notes and provide regular reminders and follow up to maintain smooth flow of information between stakeholders to ensure goals are met

Minimum Qualifications: 

  • Four years of general clerical or administrative service experience, which includes one year of experience supporting the day-to-day functions of a program (ex. developing/improving program operations, event planning, calendaring, inventory control, etc.).

Substitution : College, university or non-correspondence business school course work may substitute on a year-for-year basis for the general experience, but not for the specific experience.

Required: Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with structured evidenced based practices
  • Past experience as a program coordinator or other similar position that required managing multiple duties and responsibilities simultaneously with attention to detail and consistent follow through
  • Experience implementing new approaches, programs, or systems for working with families

Conditions of Employment

  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a 10 panel drug test
  • Must be willing and able to successfully pass a national criminal and sex offender background check

Salary and Benefits:

The salary range for this position has been established at $50,086 – $55,226 and is commensurate with skills and experience.  Salary is negotiable and commensurate with skills and experience.  This position is eligible for overtime compensation
