Summary of Duties:
The Program Assistant position is responsible for performing work requiring knowledge and experience that is specific in supporting Graduate Admissions and Graduate Programs. The duties of this position include, but are not limited to: providing prospective students, applicants and current students with information and interpretation of the Graduate School policies, procedures and regulations related to Graduate School admission; performing a variety of clerical duties that support the Graduate Admission and Graduate Program teams, such as reviewing and processing admissions-related documents and records, extracting and compiling records or data, responding to routine inquiries concerning Graduate Admissions and Graduate Programs services and procedures, maintaining and monitoring established record keeping, filing and database systems, and producing forms, letters, record entries and other material; and within established guidelines, independently organizes, prioritizes, and initiates work activities related to the program.
Required Qualifications:
High school graduation or equivalent AND two years of full-time clerical experience OR equivalent education/experience.

Program Specialty: Graduate School Admissions/Graduate School Programs.

Possession of or ability to obtain by time of hire, a valid driver’s license.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience with scanning and imaging documents. Experience with retrieval and validation of scanned documents in the WSU imaging system.

Experience with authentication of transcripts. Experience with Admissions processing.

Working knowledge of WSU student information systems and Graduate School systems (AIS, Oracle, CollegeNet, MyWSU).

Experience which demonstrates the ability to multitask.

Experience which demonstrates the ability to process large quantities of departmental email.

Experience providing customer service.

Strong written and verbal communication skills. Demonstrated skill using desktop computer applications such as Microsoft Office.

Range 35, $2,890.00 – $3,734.00 Successful candidates typically begin at the beginning of the salary range and receive scheduled salary increment increases in accordance with WAC 357-28 or applicable Collective Bargaining Agreement.
