What we want
LAUNCH: Learning Communities is seeking a Program Assistant who will provide substantial support to the Century Scholars Learning Community in their daily operations, with additional support directed to the broader Learning Communities team for inter-community collaborations and events. We are looking for a friendly and self-motivated team player who will be responsible for monitoring outgoing communications of the Century program, assist with maintaining and creating program databases and spreadsheets to track student progress, assisting our student leaders with class facilitation and event planning, and personally advising select Century Scholars students as needed. The Program Assistant will become a key leader in the Century Scholars Program as we prepare to welcome larger cohorts and expand the range of our core programming to reach students in their second, third, and fourth years at Texas A&M.
The successful candidate enjoys hands-on, collaborative teamwork but is equally capable of self-directed learning and performance. Time management, flexibility, and follow-through are all crucial for success and growth in this position. We need a candidate who is thorough, adaptable, and able to harness their individual strengths to best suit the needs of both their team members and the programs they help serve. The selected candidate will work on behalf of a diverse student population primarily comprised of first-generation, low-income, and minority students; empathy, along with a strong commitment to support diversity and inclusion, will be key to the ideal candidate’s approach to their duties.
