PROGRAM ALLIANCE MANAGER, Biological Engineering, to administer and coordinate two programs with industry–the MIT-Northpond research collaboration and the Humanizing Drug Development (HDD) consortia. Will directly supports the faculty leads by acting as the primary point of contact for MIT in all matters related to the MIT-Northpond project and the HDD consortia and be responsible within MIT for implementing the established agreements, managing MIT’s obligations under the agreements, and supporting the launch of new agreements. Responsibilities will include facilitating and coordinating communications for the projects; serving as liaison to various MIT departments, faculty, Northpond offices, and member companies; preparing MIT reports on all project activities; coordinating and supporting the Northpond proposal selection process; scheduling and preparing draft content for meetings; and seeking out and cultivating new member companies. This role requires extensive communication and coordination with Northpond, member companies, and across MIT.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; five years’ experience working with business/industry in project/program management; and excellent interpersonal, writing, and communication skills. Seek a self-motivated leader and problem solver who is able to understand, communicate, and present complex business and technical information in service or government contexts; grasp complex issues and identify solution paths; multitask and manage multiple priorities; work strategically, independently, and collaboratively as part of a diverse team; and relate effectively with faculty and manage relationships with senior industry executives/officials. PREFERRED: MBA, M.S. or Ph.D. in science, engineering, management, or other relevant area; direct experience in academic research sponsored programs, including understanding of sponsor interactions related to research/education missions; and a degree from, knowledge of, and experience at MIT.
