Professorship (W3) for Inorganic Molecular Chemistry

 

from 01.04.2026 on.

 

We are looking for a motivated scientist personality (m/f/d) who is recognized by excellent scientific achievements in molecular inorganic chemistry and who would like to further advance his or her activities at the Institute of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry of Friedrich Schiller University Jena.

 

Suitable candidates (m/f/d) will show an independent profile in a promising field of research in molecular inorganic chemistry with international visibility. The research areas of the professorship should be complementary to existing research areas in Jena. Willingness for interdisciplinary collaboration within the faculty and at the Jena campus is expected. Integration into the active collaborative research projects of Friedrich Schiller University (https://www.uni-jena.de/forschung/projekte) and the profile lines of the Friedrich Schiller University (https://www.uni-jena.de/profillinien) is desired, as well as initiative for their further development.

 

The applicants should be able to teach Inorganic Chemistry in full breadth in all major and minor courses. Excellent publications and relevant experience in obtaining extramural funding are expected, as well as leadership skills and willingness to engage actively in the development of the Institute and the Faculty.

 

Required are a completed university degree, doctorate, habilitation or equivalent achievements, and proven pedagogical aptitude. The appointment will be unlimited as a civil servant, provided that the legal requirements are met.
