The Faculty of Dentistry and BC Children’s Hospital (BCCH) invite applications for a full-time tenure-track position in the Department of Dentistry at BCCH and the Division of Pediatric Dentistry at UBC. Applicants must have postgraduate training in pediatric dentistry and be, or be eligible to be, a licensed specialist in pediatric dentistry in Canada. Rank will depend on qualifications and experience. The applicant should have recent clinical experience treating children with a variety of complex needs and should meet the professional criteria to be privileged at BCCH. Evidence of the ability to set up an thriving program in the areas of education, clinical or fundamental research is expected. The research topics should contribute to improved oral health in the children of British Columbia and will enhance existing research in Pediatric Dentistry at UBC and BCCH. Preference will be given to individuals with previous academic experience in a hospital or university setting. The successful applicant must have the potential, with appropriate mentoring and career development, to eventually direct the Pediatric Dentistry graduate program and teach both at BCCH and UBC. This position includes 1 day per week private practice either intramurally at BCCH or externally in the community.
