„Electrochemistry of Energy Storage“

Your responsibilities
At the TU Braunschweig, a professorship in the field of
electrochemistry of energy storage is to be filled to strengthen the focus of chemistry in energy conversion. Basic research with a methodological or analytical focus on at least one of the following areas is expected: battery cells and solid state battery cells, (bio)fuel cells, electrolysis, redox flow batteries, photovoltaics, molecular energy transfer, electrochemical synthesis of e-fuels and related topics.

Candidates should be internationally visible and be able to integrate well into collaborative projects with non-university institutions in the region. The professorship includes teaching duties at all levels of student training for the courses in chemistry and sustainable energy technology.

Our expectations
■ Willingness to be involved in important core research areas of the TU Braunschweig such as “Mobility” or “Future City” as well as the excellence clusters “Sustainable and Energy- Efficient Aviation” and “Quantum Frontiers” and the research centers such as the Battery LabFactory Braunschweig (BLB) or the Automotive Research Centre Niedersachsen (NFF)
■ Very good command of the English language and willingness to teach in English
■ Willingness to participate in the self-administration of the university
■ Willingness to participate in the internationalization of the university and in research
■ Experience with the successfull acquisition and willingness to raise third-party funds
■ Experience with and willingness to raise third-party funds

Requirements, § 25 NHG
■ Completed university studies
■ Proven pedagogical suitability
■ Special qualification for in-depth independent scientific work, which is usually demonstrated by an above-average doctorate.
■ Additional academic achievements, usually within the framework of a junior professorship, a post-doctoral lecture qualification (Habilitation) or achievements equivalent to a habilitation.
