The Telfer School of Management invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Management at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor commencing on July 1, 2025, or earlier.
Title of Position: Professor in management. The rank is commensurate with experience. The incumbent will teach courses primarily in French.
Terms: Tenure-track position.
Duties: Duties will include in varying proportions: research, teaching, and academic service activities.
Research activities: Applications are invited from candidates with a proven strong capacity in securing competitive research funding, and who can maintain lofty standards of excellence with an active research agenda in Entrepreneurship or Innovation Management.
Teaching activities include: i) strengthening quality teaching activities; ii) having excellent pedagogical practices and teaching-related scholarly activities; iii) providing an active contribution to increase our graduate programs and interdisciplinarity and iv) supervising graduate students.
Academic service activities: The candidate will be an active member of the Management Section. Administrative duties will be agreed upon with the section and the Dean.

Salary and Benefits Package: Salaries are competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience. The salary scale for an Assistant Professor starts at $89,622, the salary scale for an Associate Professor starts at $98,999 (as of May 1, 2023). As importantly, Telfer has a strong, collaborative, and active group of entrepreneurship faculty members who engage in teaching and research. Our entrepreneurship courses at the undergraduate level include, for example, The Entrepreneurial Society, New Venture Creation, Social Entrepreneurship, Strategic Entrepreneurship, Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Family Business, and Innovation Management. Our entrepreneurship courses include experiential learning opportunities and are connected with the activities of the University’s E-hub (e.g., Startup weekend, Elevator Pitch, and Startup Garage) that support student ventures.
Our course offerings are informed by our faculty’s strong research in several areas related to entrepreneurship, including (alphabetically): business incubation, community entrepreneurship, family business, inclusive entrepreneurship, innovation management, science and technology entrepreneurship, and social entrepreneurship, among others. Our entrepreneurship faculty members publish their research in journals such as Academy of Management Review, Entrepreneurship Theory and Practice, Family Business Review, Journal of Business Venturing, Journal of Management, Organization Studies, Strategic Entrepreneurship Journal, and Strategic Management Journal.
Telfer also offers two research-oriented graduate programs with a focus on entrepreneurship. First, Telfer’s Master of Science (MSc) program offers a specialized track in entrepreneurship. Second, Telfer’s PhD program offers a specialized track in entrepreneurship. Both programs train graduate students who are integral to the entrepreneurship group and strongly involved in the group’s research activities.
