Reporting to the Senior Manager, Organizational Development and Learning, the incumbent will coordinate and work with program areas and academic departments to lead and support implementation of higher education professional development. The incumbent will lead all faculty onboarding and orientation programming and provide for professional development opportunities throughout the educators’ careers. Additionally, the incumbent will coordinate and facilitate ongoing Professional Development experiences to build capacity and enhance the pedagogical, leadership and subject-specific skills of faculty while building relationships internally and externally to promote student success through effective teaching and technology use practice.

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

Combination of excellent leadership and teaching skills with a strong commitment to academic excellence, the scholarship of teaching and learning and student success.

Excellent communication skills

Strong interpersonal, organizational and project management skills

Ability to relate effectively to a wide variety of learners

Strong technical/computer skills and familiarity with educational technologies

Teaching experience

SPECIFIC QUALFICATIONS

Master’s degree preferably in Education or Organizational Development

Minimum 5-7 years’ recent, relevant experience

An equivalent combination of education and/or experience may be considered; preference will be given to applicants meeting the education requirements

Proven expertise in faculty professional program development including onboarding and orientation preferred

Proven expertise in coordinating and facilitating professional development learning events preferred

Proven expertise with learning management systems preferred

Experience with Instructional Skills Workshop (ISW) or similar an asset

Approximate Start Date: November 1, 2023

Salary: Determination of starting salaries is based on relevant teaching/occupational experience and relevant formal qualifications, supported with original transcripts from granting institutions. The salary scale is $70,608 to $122,405 along with a comprehensive benefit package.

Partial load or full-time academic staff presently employed with the College will be given first consideration in accordance with the Academic Collective Agreement.
