Position Description:

The Medical College of Wisconsin is a private, freestanding medical school dedicated to leadership and excellence in advancing the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of disease and injury through education, discovery, patient care and community engagement.

The Division of Hematology and Oncology in the Department of Medicine at the Medical College of Wisconsin seeks candidates for the position of Clinical Laboratory Director, Cell Therapy Lab (CTL).  The Clinical Laboratory Director of the CTL will provider leadership and oversight of the clinical cell therapy processing facility and supervise overall lab operations and quality management.  The CTL Director will work in collaboration with F&MCW health system leadership, including leaders from pathology, adult and pediatric hematology and oncology, F&MCW cancer service line and the MCW Cancer Center to ensure compliance with cell processing standards and with institutional policies.  Candidates should also have an interest in preclinical research. 

Qualified candidates must have a medical degree, doctoral degree or equivalent degree in a relevant science (e.g. Immunology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology) and must be qualified for the scope of activities carried out by the cell processing facility.

The Clinical Laboratory Director must have practical and relevant experience in cellular therapy product processing, including at least 2 years of training and experience specific to the scope of activities conducted by the processing facility.

The Division of Hematology and Oncology has 75 faculty and 14 fellows and 80 advanced practice providers.  It also has a dedicated inpatient and ambulatory care facility, an integrated Palliative Care program and close clinical and research interactions with Surgical and Radiation Oncology, the Blood Center of Wisconsin and the CIBMTR.  This Division is an active member of ECOG.
