Summary

The Department of Radiology, in conjuction with the Michigan Institute for Imaging Technology and Translation (MIITT) and the Department of Biomedical Engineering is seeking an Instructional faculty member at the Professor rank.  The laboratory is active in developing and translating new MRI software technologies in many areas including quantitative MRI, interventional MRI, real-time MRI, and MRI accessibility. A key component of this work is to evaluate these new technologies in targeted application to improve patient care in the future.

Responsibilities*

The emphasis of this faculty position is on establishing an independent research program that is in harmony with the theme of current research at the MIITT. The main responsibilities including seeking outside funding will be MRI sequence programming, MR image reconstruction and processing, quantitative data analysis and participate in manuscript and grant writing. In addition, it is expected that this position will collaborate with other investigators and handle administrative and supervisory duties thoughout Michigan Medicine.  There will also be teaching requirements to graduate and undergraduate students as part of the Biomedical Engineering department.

Required Qualifications*

M.D. or M.D./Ph.D. or equivalent.  Individual should be well-established in professional position with demonstrated scholarly or creative ability that positively impacts their field. Both scholarly independence or contribution to a scientific team his required.  Evidence by peer-reviewed publications is required.  Clinical and/or laboratory research is essential and a sustained level of external research funding is standard.
