We are seeking a skilled and detailed-oriented Production Molecular Biology Technician (m/f/d) to join our dynamic DNA synthesis team. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a variety of molecular biology techniques, including DNA extraction, PCR, cloning, DNA sequencing and other related tasks. This role requires excellent laboratory skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment. Tasks Execute production protocols for the manufacturing of molecular biology reagents and Ribbon’s DNA products according to established procedures and batch records. Prepare and sterilize laboratory materials and equipment for production runs. Perform quality control tests and analyses to ensure the integrity, purity, and functionality of manufactured products. Maintain accurate records of production activities, including batch records, inventory logs, and quality control data. Monitor inventory levels of raw materials and consumables and coordinate with purchasing to ensure timely replenishment. Assist in troubleshooting technical issues related to production processes and equipment. Participate in process improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, efficiency, and scalability. Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and standard operating procedures (SOPs) to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, automation development and quality assurance to support platform development. Contribute to the validation and qualification of production processes and equipment. Requirements Associate’s or bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, or related field. Or equivalent work experience/apprenticeship in these fields. Previous experience working in a production or manufacturing environment, preferably in the life sciences industry, is a plus. Experience with molecular biology techniques such as PCR, qPCR, nucleic acid purification, and gel electrophoresis. Hands-on experience with laboratory equipment and instrumentation used in molecular biology production, such as liquid handlers, thermal cyclers, and spectrophotometers. Strong attention to detail and ability to follow precise instructions and protocols. Excellent organizational and time management skills to meet production deadlines and prioritize tasks effectively. Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team-based environment. Flexibility to work in a dynamic and fast-paced production environment. Ability to communicate in English (written and spoken) at Level B2 or higher. Ability to use Microsoft Office: Excel/PowerPoint/Word. Additional plus could be: Experience with electronic notebook entry and/or digital sample management systems. Experience with DNA library preparation methods and sequence editing and analysis software. Familiarity with quality control principles and techniques. Experience with working under ISO and GMP-controlled conditions. Experience with operating automated liquid handling robots. Fluent in German (written and spoken).
