Position overview
ANU Press is the leading open-access publisher in Australia, producing high-quality scholarly publications from top academics across the globe. We are seeking an experienced, driven and detail-oriented Production Editor (permanent part-time) to join our fantastic team in Canberra.
The Production Editor provides editorial and publishing support to ANU Press in its print and digital publishing activities, primarily by preparing copyedited manuscripts for layout. This includes but is not limited to removing global inconsistencies in spelling, punctuation and style; cross-checking citations and reference lists; ensuring that illustrations are of sufficient quality; cleaning up formatting; and resolving any remaining queries with the author/s. The role also involves completing a final check of all page proofs before publication and performing other editorial and administrative tasks as required. This position reports directly to the ANU Press Manager.
Previous experience in coordinating the production of print and digital publications is highly desirable, as is the ability to assess priorities and manage pressing and/or conflicting deadlines.
