Run what runs the world.This Position reports to: Vice President, SoftwareYour Role: Own the ChallengeWe’re seeking an experienced Product Manager to guide the evolution of B&R’s Industrial Automation Platform. You’ll manage continuous improvements to today’s solution while shaping the next-gen, cloud-ready stack built on Linux, Kubernetes, and OPC UA FX. This global role spans strategy, roadmap, and market positioning — translating technical innovation into customer value, engaging key stakeholders, and aligning cross-functional teams to keep B&R at the forefront of Industry 4.0.Further:Platform Strategy & Roadmap
Develop a multiyear roadmap that balances maintaining the current platform with advancing next-gen solutions, aligning with trends like IIoT, edge/cloud, and industrial Ethernet.Product Lifecycle & Migration
Ensure the current platform remains competitive through updates and upgrades, while providing smooth migration paths to new technologies (e.g., OPC UA FX).Go-to-Market & Customer Engagement
Create impactful technical marketing assets, support global sales with training and tools, and gather customer insights to shape platform evolution.Monetization & Strategic Positioning
Define pricing and bundling strategies, and continuously monitor market dynamics to ensure strong business performance and differentiation.What it takes to Run what runs the worldEducation: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Automation or similar.Experience: 10+ years in software or industrial automation engineering (embedded/cloud) AND 5+ years of product-management in industrial automation.Technical expertise: Deep understanding of industrial runtime software, deterministic control, and application lifecycle; strong knowledge of modern IT (DevOps, microservices, Kubernetes) and real-time industrial networks (OPC UA, POWERLINK, PROFINET, etc.).Business acumen: Skilled in creating business models and pricing strategies for software-centric industrial solutions.Communication skills: Able to clearly convey complex tech to diverse audiences; strong presenter and storyteller.Collaborative mindset: Effective in cross-functional, global environments; experienced in customer engagement.Motivation & adaptability: Self-motivated, tech and open to ~30% travel.Languages: Fluent in German and English.Why join our company?
