The Opportunity:

The University of Central Florida (UCF) Technology Product Center is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist I.  This position will play a vital role in the acquisition and management of software, licensing, and intellectual properties for Information Technology at UCF.

Responsibilities:  

  • Manages software acquisitions and renewals, documenting operations, tracking assets, fulfilling transactions, reporting data, following established workflows, and completing business processes for the institution.

  • -Point-of-sale, service management, and other financial systems in the execution of software asset transaction, as well as software administrative portals. 

  • Effectively manages software license renewals, assets, transactions, reporting, data, workflows, and business processes for the institution following established procedures and workflows.

  • Works with diverse customers across the organization to communicate, collaborate, fund, and execute software licensing for the university.  Provides customer service, explains terms and conditions of purchase, documents transactions, researches software asset history, produces reports, and manages transactions.

  • Administers software platforms managing user access, ensuring licenses are correctly assigned, reassigned, removed, transferred, deleted, updated, and resources such as documentation and installation files are up to date and available.

  • Organizes and updates data related to software assets, producing records, documents, forecasts, and reports.

  • Ability to work directly with vendor escalation services, process vendor support tickets for UCF IT and communicate effectively with UCF IT Infrastructure management and clients.

  • Ensures all assigned Objectives & Key Results (OKR) and various metrics are met on annual basis. This includes service level targets on tickets and assignments.

  • Follows Standard Operating Procedures within UCF IT and the Infrastructure department to perform: Change Management, Request Management, Incident Management, and Problem Management functions within ServiceNow. Works to meet service level targets to ensure a high level of service delivery.

  • Other duties as assigned, which may include a temporary supervisory role for the sub-unit within the department if the supervisor is unavailable (examples: sick or annual leave).

Minimum Qualifications:  

High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

The preferred candidate will have at least a basic understanding of IT concepts and terminology as well as experience working with and understanding software contract terminology.
