The Opportunity:
The Procurement Specialist I will report to the Facilities Operations Warehouse Manager II and will be responsible for assisting management in coordinating with department personnel to determine purchasing needs and requirements. This position will also be responsible for obtaining materials, supplies, services and equipment.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities of this position include but are not limited to:

Assists manager in coordinating with department personnel to determine purchasing needs and requirements.

Obtains material, supplies, services and equipment using purchasing card, blanket purchase orders or by submitting requisitions (in coordination with department accounting function and UCF Procurement; Follows up on the status of requests; maintains a log of transactions; follows up on discrepancies in receipt, invoices and billing documents.

Manages stock to ensure availability for maintenance staff; maintains inventory control files to includes adjustments, minimum levels, and re-order points; maintains inventory reports to drive purchasing decisions; works with Environmental Health and Safety for all purchases of hazardous materials prior to enacting transactions.

Assists and performs the duties of other Central Stores team members during absences; Assists with other functional areas of the warehouse and logistics team as determined by management.

Maintains catalogs of equipment, materials and supplies available to the department. Maintains lists of vendors.

Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or Equivalent and 0+ years of relevant experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
-
Experience in a university setting.
-
Knowledge of inventory control methodologies.
-
Familiarity with warehousing and space utilization techniques.
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills to foster productive relationships with internal and external customers.

Experience with evaluating price points in order to negotiate with vendors effectively.
-
Ability to work with cross-functional teams.
-
Experience utilizing an Integrated Work Management System.
Special Instructions to the Applicants:
The UCF policy requires completion and passing of a physical exam for this position.
Position requires a valid driver’s license (regular license). This position may involve driving to various locations on and off campus to conduct university business.
Class A powered lift truck (forklift) certification is required within 90 days of hire date.
