VetShield has a great opportunity for a Procurement and Administrative Assistant to join us. You’ll be primarily supporting our CEO and Controller with general administrative support 70% of the time and procurement 30% of the time (sourcing materials and obtaining multiple quotes). We are a small, but growing team with big plans. We value collaboration, communication and innovation. This position will primarily work from home, but you’ll need to be based in Lethbridge (you’ll need to have a home office space, supply your own computer and cell phone), there is some flexibility with the schedule and we have some great team bonding events!

What does the opportunity look like?

Providing general administrative support primarily to our CEO and Controller

Procurement support (you’ll receive instructions from our CEO too, so you don’t need experience in procurement, although it would be an asset)

Sourcing materials for our state of the art commercial facilities

Obtaining multiple quotes to ensure we get competitive pricing

Talking to suppliers regarding materials, quotes and delivery timelines

Comparing pricing for utilities

Drafting correspondence

Sending out new hire packages and following up with them if documents aren’t completed by the start date

Some travel within the city to construction sites, meeting with suppliers, attending meetings with our CEO or other administrative tasks

Supporting the team by booking travel arrangements

Registering the company for events as instructed by other team members and attending events as needed

Some data entry

Managing mail for the office, cleaning and organizing the office (including the lunch room and main area, this will be an hour of your time per week roughly)

What are we looking for?

A few years of experience working as an Administrative Assistant, Receptionist, Sales Coordinator or similar position

Experience with procurement or familiarity with construction would be an asset, but not required

Great writing skills are a must

You can run with tasks when needed and collaborate as required

Comfortable with software in general (you would consider yourself as “tech savvy”), especially with business software and familiarity with Google Suites in particular would be a plus but not mandatory

What’s in it for you?

A competitive base salary of $45,000 to $55,000, depending on experience
