As a Principal Software Engineer working on Oracle Health’s ecosystem, you will build and automate scalable components that manage the flow of data, features, and services—in real-time and batch—as well as components related to the operations of the high availability services.

What You’ll Do

  • Build highly available, resilient, self-healing service on top of the modern Infrastructure as Service (IaaS) using OCI services.
  • Design and build distributed, scalable, fault tolerant software systems.
  • Participate in the entire software lifecycle – development, testing, CI and production operations
  • Balance between product feature development and production operational concerns like writing run books, ops automation, structured logging, instrumentation for metrics and events
  • Leverage plethora of internal tooling at OCI to develop, build, deploy and fix software
  • Participate in on-call for the service with the team
  • Resolve issues when they arise
  • Oracle Cloud Infrastructure development

Qualifications

  • You have prior experience working on distributed systems
  • You are proficient in one or more of Java, C#, C/C++ and/or Python
  • You are experienced at building highly available services, possessing knowledge of common service-oriented design patterns and service-to-service communication protocols
  • You are familiar with components of modern infrastructure like service discovery, secret storage, software-defined networking, etc.
  • You have experience with production operations and good practices for putting quality code in production and solve issues when they arise
  • Cloud Engineering Infrastructure Development
  • Preferably, production experience with Cloud and ML technologies
  • Take initiative and be responsible for delivering complex software by working effectively with the team and other partners
  • You feel at home communicating technical ideas verbally and in writing (technical proposals, design specs, architecture diagrams and presentations)
  • Data science and machine learning knowledge would be helpful, but not required

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.
