Position Summary:
 
The incumbent provides high quality customer service to patients needing to be contacted in order to effectively schedule specialty referral appointments or to make appointment modifications as a result of operational changes. Provides outbound call center services across all clinical areas within the Medical Center, applying expert understanding of each clinic’s unique scheduling requirements. Takes inbound calls from patients calling to obtain medical services, as necessary. Serves as a preceptor for new staff.

$21.70 – $23.97

Required:
 
Experience with MS Excel. Minimum 1 year experience working in a customer service position with high utilization and reliance upon an electronic medical scheduling system (Quest, Epic, etc.). Demonstrated experience using office equipment such as a printer, copier, fax, scanner. Demonstrated knowledge of insurance programs and/or government programs. Minimum 1 year experience scheduling patient appointments for multiple medical specialty clinic. Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System. Demonstrated experience using a computer, including data entry and retrieval. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and direction.
 
Preferred:
 
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms. Minimum 6 months experience working at UCI Medical Center’s Call Center. Prior EPIC experience. Bilingual skills in English and Spanish and/or Vietnamese. Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology.
